Group History

Formed in 1995 Eurokey Recycling Ltd started its life in a 400 sq ft council rented unit in Leicester where we use to collect and store mostly cardboard and a little polythene.
John would drive round the industrial estates in Leicester collecting material from the Hosiery Factories and Dye Houses of the town in his Luton Box Van.

With a significant amount of hard work and determination the company quickly grew and in 1998 was turning over £2.5 million and John decided to form Countyrecycling which dealt specifically with cardboard and paper.

Eurokey Recycling Ltd was better able to concentrate on the expanding plastics side of the business and by the year 2000 the Group had an annual turnover of £4.5 million and was recycling some  20,000 tonnes of material.

In 2000 we extended our product offering to our customers with the addition of our Compliance Scheme.

Further significant investment in collection infrastructure, grading, sorting and baling equipment saw our recycling tonnage grow to 30,000 tonnes  and our turnover to £6 million

Demand for a "Closed Loop " system where we would maintain the balance of material provided to a reprocessor with finished product returning to the UK meant that we formed Recoverypak in 2004.

The recycling industry was becoming more global. We had established strong relationships with a number of overseas reprocessors and were beginning to source material throughout the world. We opened a collection and reprocessing facility in Johannesburg South Africa in 2003, followed by India in 2005 and Australia in 2007.

This year we have added Green4life a local collection enterprise to our Group.

We are proud to say that we now have a combined turnover of £13million, operate on four continents, have recently invested in additional premises and look forward to continued growth and success.
