News Update

13th May

Eurokey made the news! BBC Website on Monday the 3rd May, Leicester Mercury for three days and loads of YouTube entries.

One of the worst events a company can experience happened to our company. We had a major fire at our Enderby site which completely destroyed the entire premises.

This is a defining moment in a company when you discover how robust your disaster recovery plan really is, how good your support services are, how loyal your customers and how committed are your staff.

Thankfully the Monday was a bank holiday and in that time we had transferred saved machinery/equipment and moved staff to our other two sites. The staff were very supportive and are currently working night shifts at our other two premises. Our drivers and sub contracted hauliers quickly diverted lorries to our two other sites. Operationally we had the minimum of customers collections affected.

But life is never easy and the devil is in the detail. Telephones, Computers and Offices! We operated out of our sister companies office for 3-4 days. Somewhat cramped is an understatement and people worked from home. We had a full back up off site and we were able to retrieve our server which  although currently has a tendency to fall over will be replaced by the end of this week. It takes time to transfer over the data!

We are now sitting in new rented offices round the corner from our old offices with full communications, phone , email, printers and a day away from total regeneration.

However all our paperwork has been destroyed and there are gaps in our paperwork trail which we are quickly filling.

We had plans to relocate to a new Hinckley site and have a planning meeting next week. This is an existing building and we will be fully operational within 2 months, meantime our two other sites will pick up the slack.

We would like to thank:

And last but not least all of our staff for their dedication and long hours.

4th May

Unfortunately Eurokey Recycling experienced a major fire at their Enderby site on Sunday 2nd May. The good news is that there were no staff or personnel present at the site and as a result there were no injuries or casualties.

Fire fighters from The Leicester Fire Brigade worked very professionally to bring the blaze under control and Eurokey are delighted to say that none of the neighbouring business premises were affected.

The situation now is that the Enderby site will be closed for some time. However the Company is pleased to say that it will continue to process material at its Lount site. During the next 48 hours the Company's IT and administrative operations will be transferred to a rented site in Leicester.

Eurokey Recycling were planning to open a new site in Hinckley and those plans have now been moved forward. Operationally Eurokey recycling is taking steps to ensure that it continues to provide a high level of service and would like to have the continued support of its customers.
